Derrick Eiland

Life Reflections Derrick was born on January 25, 1992, in Oak Park, IL to the union of Debra and Derrick Eiland. At an early age, Derrick accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized. Derrick attended and graduated from Hillside Elementary School and Proviso West High School both in Hillside, IL. Derrick had a love for music, sports and was an undiscovered comedian (in his head). Derrick was affectionately known as Lil’ Derrick by his family and Iggy by his friends. He was known by many and loved by all. To know Derrick was to love him!

Derrick’s unique personality, sense of humor was loved and adored by everyone he met. Derrick had a smile that would light up any room and an infectious laugh that warms your heart. Derrick’s gentle spirit just made you love him. Family meant everything to him and family didn’t stop at those with blood ties - Derrick truly loved everyone!

On February 19, 2024, God called his servant Derrick home. He was preceded in death by his mother Debra, his paternal grandparents Charles and Hettie Honey; maternal grandfather Robert Boldon; an aunt, Cynthia Johnson and a cousin Robert Hester.

Derrick leaves to cherish his memory two children: DaMya and Damir, the mother of his children and lifelong friend-Phylicia; his father, Derrick Sr. and stepmother Royetta; grandmother Irene Boldon; two brothers: DeAndre and Darrion; three sisters: Charonna, Kiandra and Ebonie; five aunts: Linda, Felecia, LaTonya, Sharon, Charlotte (Rodney); two uncles: LeCurtis and Keith (Deatrice); two nieces: Dreyah and Zyn’daiyah; two nephews: DeAmani and DeAndre Jr.; a host of cousins and friends. Lil’ Derrick will be missed by his children, family and friends
