Elvin Walker Obituary

                                                                     Elvin Duane Walker

Elvin Duane Walker was born in Chicago, Illinois on Friday April 29,1955 to the parents of Elvin and Dorothy Mae (Norris) Walker. In the Devine plan of the Almighty Father, Elvin was the first born to this union. Elvin was a very special person, most people have the privilege of having a mother in their life, Elvin was blessed to have a few mothers in his life: there was Rose Norris, Susie McGill, Leslie Hill, and Ella Norris who preceded him in death. Elvin confessed his love for Christ at a very early age. He recently Rededicated his life at Lansing Church of Christ in Lansing, Illinois where he became an official Member.

Elvin was a graduate of Harlan High School in Chicago, Illinois. He also attended Chicago State University in Chicago, Illinois. Elvin relocated to Georgia for a few years and being the free sprit that he was, he relocated again to Alabama where he “sat for a spell” with the love of his life his grandmother (Dea). While living in Alabama, Elvin went to Truck Driving school in Florida where he received his CDL’s and acquired all the endorsement that were available to become a Commodity Relocator. He has driven safely, never lost a load, and nor has he ever had an accident in 30 plus years. Elvin inevitably returned back to his home town of Chicago, Illinois in 1996 where he started his own Trucking Company (Walker Trucking). Elvin was reunited with his Soulmate Delores and they were united in holy matrimony on December 30,1997 in Demopolis, Alabama. Delores was Elvin’s ride or die! They had a love for each other that most people only dream about and most will never have the opportunity to experience. Elvin and Delores were best friends. They would talk for hours just enjoying being in the presence of each other.

         Elvin Duane Walker (Hollywood) was always the type of person that enjoyed helping people. In his early years, he was employed at ASC Medical Car Service where he enjoyed working with and assisting the elderly. Elvin never met any strangers, Elvin loved life, a good time, and good people. He always had a smile on his face and a song in his heart. Elvin loved to make people laugh because he was always laughing and cracking jokes. Elvin never raised his voice about anything. He always had a very calm, soothing tone, and that was because he had such a wonderful sprite. Elvin’s favorite color was blue. His favorite food was, “GOOD FOOD”. He was a lover of chocolate, he loved chicken and dumplings (which his Aunt Delphine made sure he enjoyed on the regular). Elvin loved to fly helicopters and play with his monster cars. Elvin enjoyed riding his precious (BABY) his Goldwing Motorcycle. Elvin loved music (old school downhome melodies). Elvin loved to dance. Elvin was a perfect gentleman, compassionate, and kind.  Conversely, Elvin was cared for and loved by a multitude of people because of his winning ways, magnetic, and captivating personality. Elvin was a world traveler. He would say, “I’ve traveled the world from the out house to the white house.” There is no one way of describing Elvin because he meant so many different things to so many different people. Elvin was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, son, grandson, brother-in laws, nephew, uncle, great-uncle, great-great-uncle, cousin, and best friend.

      Elvin went home to his Devine father to his Mansion on Tuesday April 10,2018. He was preceded in death by his Mother: Dorothy Mae (Norris)Walker, His Grandparents: Henry A. and Roenia(Dea) Norris and Mattie Nicholson, Aunt/Other Mother Ella Norris, In-laws, James and Zelma Nicholson, and a host of Uncles, Aunts, Brother-In-Laws, Sister in laws, Cousins and many Friends are among the Angels.

                                                                                “I have fought a good fight;

                                                                                  I have finished the race;

                                                                                     I have kept the faith.”

                                                                                    In Loving Memory

                                                                              Of A Very Special Husband

                                                           When God was making husbands; as far as I can see

                                                              He made a special soul mate; especially for me.

                                                         He made a perfect gentleman, compassionate, and kind

                                                      With more love and affection; than you could ever wish to find.

                                                           He gave my darling husband; a heart of solid gold

                                                       He gave me wonderful memories; only my heart could hold.

                                                        He was someone I could talk to; that no one can replace

                                                    He was someone I could laugh with; till tears ran down my face.

                                                               Next time we meet; will be in heavens’ door

                                                          When I see you standing there; I won’t cry anymore.

                                                       I will put my arms around you; and kiss your smiling face

                                                    Then the pieces of my broken heart; will fall back into place.
