Obituary

Ercelene Gamble was born on April 21, 1947 in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Kathleen and Ercel Smallwood.  She departed into glory on March 26, 2018.

She was educated through the Roanoke Public School system. After graduation, she met and married Thurman Hunt and moved to Chicago. As the years went by, they were blessed with two children.

Ercelene pursued her passion for nursing and spent many years working at Michael Reese Hospital.  She later moved to Cook County Hospital where she continued her nursing career.

She gave her life to the Lord at an early age and continued worshiping the Lord throughout her life.

Ercelene relocated to Houston, TX where she married Reverend Jim Gamble.  They spent 22 wonderful years together until Jim’s death in 2012. She leaves behind to cherish her memory two loving and devoted daughters, Clarisa Williams (Ron) of Bolingbrook, Illinois and Clarice Edwards (Michael) of Bolingbrook, Illinois; her sister Yolanda Norman (Rev. Gerrod Norman) of Williamstown, NJ; four grandchildren, Jada, Jason, Michael, and Danielle; nephews Adrian and Jair; nieces Kiara and Quayla.
