Rest in peace Rudy Smith as he begins and takes the next steps on his journey as those who knew him, his family, friends and loved ones share good memories with each other during these difficult times. I remember Rudy visiting my best friend Kevin Smith (his brother) growing up in K-town. Although he was older than me, he always treated me well whenever I was over the Smith’s house visiting, spending time with his brother and this is something I never forgot. But, the most memorable thing about Rudy I can share is I was always impressed how he had his own style, walked his own path and did his own thing in his own way…and his love for different forms of music of which we connected as I too enjoyed and still enjoy any genre of music…as long as it is good. From then to this day as we celebrate his passing, remembering Rudy places a smile on my face as I today have walked, paved my own path, in my own way, with my own style and approach of which I say to Rudy, “Brother, being unique is better than being perfect. Thanks for being you and giving a young man another reason for being himself.’” May God bless the Smith Family and provide grace and comfort in their memories of Rudy.
