The Life Reflections of Aaron Harold Gill
Aaron Harold Gill was born on July 19th, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the eldest son of six children born to the union of the late Hazel and Aaron Gill.
At an early age, Aaron Harold accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Shiloah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Woodrow Wilson Taylor. Aaron Harold was a member of the church choir and was often remembered as having the loudest voice.
Aaron Harold was reared on Chicago’s westside. He attended and graduated from Medill Elementary and George Westinghouse Vocational High School where he learned to be a Master Print Shop Technician. In High School Aaron Harold grew into his love of fine tailored clothes and custom apparel. He along with his best friends Preston Brown and Jerome Wilson were known for their unforgettable style.
During his Senior year in High School Aaron Harold met Ms. Glinda Coley and from that loving relationship his only child Sharonda was born. Aaron Harold adored his daughter and whenever he spoke of her the words “she is my greatest accomplishment” were never too far behind.
In February 1972, Aaron Harold entered the Army National Guard of Illinois. He later enlisted in The United States Army serving as a Military Policeman in San Antonio Texas. During his enlistment he received a Rifle Sharpshooter commendation and at the end of his active duty he was honorably discharged.
Aaron Harold held a diverse and accomplished work history as a School Bus Driver, Railroad Worker and U.S. Postal Worker. He also worked for Bethany Hospital while in High School.
Aaron Harold was well known throughout his community. It was commonplace for him to spend his days at the neighborhood church, Bethel Outreach Ministries. He was always willing and present to lend a helping hand to his neighbors whether it was to complete odd jobs or to shovel their snow.
Aaron Harold was an excellent chess player and spent time teaching the game to his siblings and nephews. He had a fondness for music and was also a great dancer, stepping to be exact. While he held a deep affection for these things his greatest love was of sports. Chicago born and bred through and through, the Chicago Bears, Cubs and Bulls teams were among his favorites. He loved Ernie Banks and played baseball in his younger years. Being the avid fan and sports enthusiast that he was, he would strike up and carry on a conversation with anyone at any time about anything sports related.
Aaron Harold was born into his eternal life on June 11, 2023 to be reunited with his parents Hazel and Aaron, his sister Cheryl Marie and brother Duane Francis who preceded him in death. He leaves to lovingly cherish his memory a daughter, Sharonda Mack (Demetrius); two grandsons, Marcel Coley and Deshaun Walker; a beloved sister, Yolanda Carol; three brothers, Reginald Dean (Beverly), Steven Randolph (Nicole) and Bryant Aaron (Latisa); four nieces, Valencia, Hazel, Heaven (Christian), and Deanna; four nephews, Aaron, Adrian, Jayden and Jordan; two Aunts, Emily Salley, Linda Gill (Stanley); one Uncle, John D.R.
