ALAN RUSSELL LEWIS Born and raised on Chicago’s southside; a proud family man and phenomenal father who took pride in being a Korean war veteran. He acquired his love of the military after joining the ROTC at Phillips HS. He joined the Navy and was stationed in Korea and Japan.

Alan married the love of his life, Judie Dolan. They moved to Maywood to raise their family. Alan was an alter server and faithful member of St. Eulalia church in Maywood for over 40 years. He was an excellent cook and spent many years as a chef before he became a 25year employee of Bellwood school district 88; where he retired in 2000. This beloved man was called daddy by five people, four daughters and one son…

Lynette Lewis, who was the joy created from Alan’s first marriage, proceeded him in death-2001.

Jamie (Tony) is Alan’s 2nd oldest daughter and the one who became his personal chef in the end. Jamie gave Alan the first and the most grandkids…..Brandon (Quiana), Britton (Celia), Brycen, Brentez, Brehana, Brontice and Braquel. They all gave him 15 great-grandkids.

Stacey, Alan’s only son, only has sons…. two, Stacey and Marcus (Ta’tiana). They gave him six additional great-grand kids.

Misty (Leonard), the one who blows her nose exactly like her dad, has four children….. Morgan, Elliott, Miranda, and Ethan.

Lolly, daddy’s baby girl, had three children……Karess, Rico and Mondo aka Traye (who proceeded him in death-2021).

Alan, who is affectionately known as Grandpa, is also known as the candy man for giving out suckers to everyone at church and his grandchildren. Alan was known for decorating his car with bobble heads, stickers and pictures. It was not hard to spot his car a mile away. He loved a good joke and had an infectious laugh, that will live forever!

Alan also leaves to cherish, two close cousins, Russell ‘Sonny’ Lewis (Sarah) and Katie Davis, a host of cousins, nephews and nieces.
