Devin O’mari Newcombe, born on December 29th, 2006, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, to Rondell D. Newcombe and Miriah A. Brown, passed away on November 18th, 2024. Devin embraced his faith at the age of 16, and was baptized at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois.
Devin attended West Chicago Community High School and served as the manager of the varsity football team and recently became a member of the varsity basketball team. Devin had ambitions of continuing his education with plans to attend college to study eSports and Sports Management. Devin was passionate about basketball and video games, though he also enjoyed participating in various sports. His love for travel took him to numerous states and countries, enriching his life with diverse experiences. Known for his boundless energy, enthusiasm, and humor,
Devin had a talent for making others laugh and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His generous spirit and joyful presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Devin is survived by his father, Rondell D. (Nina) Newcombe, his mother, Miriah A. (Josslynn) Brown, his three sisters, Lelani Cantu, Ronyiah Newcombe, and Meila Brown, and his brother, Andre Newcombe. He also leaves behind his great-grandfather, Charles Newcombe, grandparents, Ronald (Peggy) Ayers, Micheal A. (Jacqueline) Powell, Francisco (Hope) Cantu, and Cassandra Brown, along with numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Patricia Sarti, Fannie Newcombe, Bertha Perez, his grandmother, Denise Sarti, and his grandfather, John L. Brown Jr.
Devin's memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate to have been part of his life. His vibrant spirit, humor, and generosity will forever be remembered.
