The family would soon relocate to Chicago, Illinois while Earl attended high school. Before even completing his high school studies, he decided to join the United States Army. Earl often told stories with great pride of how he learned to jump from airplanes during his me in the military; it was one of his fondest memories. Aer years of dedicated service, Earl completed his tenure in the military and would eventually go on to graduate from DeVry University. A short me later but still quite a young man,

Earl opened his own television repair shop where he repaired televisions and VCRs, even building a VCR from scratch. Anything that had to do with wires, repairs, or any type of construction, Earl was your man. He could fix anything! If he couldn’t figure it out, no one could. He once even threw a television out of the window, then went on to gather all of the pieces to put it back together again. Over the course of his life, Earl had always admired the Nation of Islam and upheld a lot of their guiding principles, even though he never joined. He grew up with good morals and standards and was known for always saying, ”Just do the right thing.” Earl was a fun and very energetic person; he was intelligent, loving, and always telling jokes to make someone laugh or helping to make the best of any situation.

He was kind hearted and would give you the shirt from his back, if needed. Earl always found an opportunity to teach and share his experiences and words of wisdom with anyone in his presence. He loved his family and children and was always present in their lives, creating many invaluable and precious memories with them.

His impact on the lives of those who knew him, will forever remain.
