Ericka Pollard

Ericka D. Pollard began her journey on August 10, 1974. A woman of faith and family, she was the beloved daughter of Geraldine Gardner and Edward J. Gardner III.

Ericka accepted Christ into her life at an early age, establishing a foundation of faith that guided her throughout her journey. She attended Park Manor Elementary School, graduating in 1988, and later went on to achieve her GED, a testament to her determination.

Ericka was a dedicated and hard worker who spent much of her career in the food service industry. She spent many years as a familiar face at Pizza Hut, where she built a reputation for her reliability and work ethic. She later brought her talents to Simple Soups Salads and Sandwiches, where she became an integral part of the team. Known for her sassiness and charismatic spirit, Ericka was truly loved and valued by her co-workers and customers alike. Driven by her love for cooking, she also owned and operated her own catering business, where she shared her talent and passion through food. In every role she held, she worked with pride, determination, and heart.She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome.

On September 19, 2005, Ericka was united in marriage to her husband, Samuel Howard Pollard. Together, they shared a life of love, devotion and a wonderful family. Sons: Ricky Jovan, (Marche), Keanu (Andrea), Lil Howard, Shawn, and bonus daughter Lakiya. Her greatest joy was found in her role as a grandmother, and her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Laila, Londyn, Sa'Riyah, Ski, Silas, Samie, Shawn, King, and Kaydon.

Ericka was preceded in death by: her grandparents, Evie and James; her parents, Geraldine and Edward III; her uncles, Lester, Reginald, Walter, David, and Larry Sr.; her aunt, Tina; and her cousins, James III, Dannon, and Evette.

After a life filled with love and strength, God called Ericka home on January 24, 2026. Ericka leaves behind a family who adored her, including her brothers, Edward IV, James Jr., Semaj; her sisters, Venice(Chris), JeTaun, Kiliko; her aunt, LeBirdie; and her uncle, James(Geraldine). She will be deeply missed by her cousins, Larry Jr. (Donna), Cynthia(Romelle), Bernadine, Lamar, and Ashley (Elzie), as well as a host of grandchildren, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, and beloved friends.

Ericka’s warmth and the love she held for her family will never be forgotten. While our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she has gained her wings and is resting in eternal peace.
