Hettie R. Hollister was born to Prentiss Blisse''tt and Cora Lee Fleming on October 19, 1946 in the County of Tallahatchie, Mississippi. She was the third child out of nine children. As a young widow she had three sons ( Bobby, Reginald and Shawn) and one daughter ( K. Jazz). Soon after this, she met Herman Hollister ( Leasie), they married and from this union came one son; Corey. Hettie and Herman divorced and remained good friends until her sudden departure, on February 12, 2021. Hettie took care of her temple, inside and out, to the point she hadn't been in anyone's hospital in forty-five years, and that was to give birth to her youngest son. So, this shocking part of life has taken everyone by surprise and she will truly be missed, by all Hettie confessed her life at an early age and was baptized in her hometown of Holcomb/Charleston Mississippi.
Her Uncle Henry was her favored as he would allow her to travel with him to Chicago. Upon their arrival, she joined New Haven Church. Where she became very active in bible teaching and grounding her faith and beliefs. Later in the years, she began serving on the Hospitality Committee at Greater New Mount Eagle, Chicago. The Love of Christ, was seen through the lens of her eyes. Her soft tone voice shared wisdom to many. She showed herself friendly and became an addition to both of her Best Friends Carolyn Alexander and Ruthie Hamilton, families. The The Legacy of her Faith has left a lasting imprint upon the hearts of everyone she came in contact with. 1963, Graduated from Dusable Vocational High School 1970, Started out in Banking at First National Bank, verifying deposits 1980, College of Automation, earning a Degree in Computer Computation 1985, Studied Business at Olive Harvey, Chicago 1985, Profiled by Chicago Defender as the " Job Star:" because of her tenacity and perfected work ethics 1987, Landed her Career Job as a Tax Auditor for the Internal Revenue Service.
Throughout her life that it be work, play or business, she was poised, proficient and punctual ( unless it rain-she would stay home) until her retirement in 2005. Hettie was preceded in death by her first born Bobby Terrell Blisse'tt, father Prentiss Blisse'tt, mother Cora Lee Fleming. Currently, five of her siblings have passed; Henry Blisse'tt, Earl Blisse'tt, Annie Gray, Geraldine Blisse'tt, and L.B. Blisse'tt Hettie leaves to mourn, one daughter K. Jazz Blisse'tt of Chicago Il; Three Sons, Reginald Blisse'tt (Renee) of Midlothian, Illinois; Shawn Blisse'tt (Tiffany) Oswego, Illinois; Corey Hollister (Kainde) of Crestwood, Illinois; Hettie also leaves to mourn. four siblings; Cornell Blisse'tt, Albert Blisse'tt, Katherine Stevenson all three of Chicago, Illinois and Mary Lofton of Grand Rapids, Michigan. 8 Grandchildren, Te'Riel, Tristan, Kainin, Teshaun, DerShawn, Kelli, TreShawn and Symone; 4 Great Grandchildren, Trinity, Raelyn, Keonnie, Robert Jr., 4 God Grandchildren, Sakyra, Antoinette, Jeremiah, Albert and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
