Julia Mae White was born the fourth of five children to Viola and Adam White on July 11, 1940 in Tuscaloosa, AL. She lived and was baptized into the Methodist faith at a young age. Upon the death of her mother, when she was 16, Julia moved to Chicago where she lived with her Aunt Louise, who preceded her in death. In Chicago, she met and married Richard J. Bundy. The couple raised three children together and remained married until his death in January of 1987. Julia worked in housekeeping at the Conrad Hilton Hotel in downtown Chicago for a short time and eventually retired early from the U.S. Post Office after 23 years of service. She often spoke fondly of those years working at the Englewood and Lakeview stations and made several lifelong friends, including Mrs. Rosa Phillips. Julia suffered a parents' greatest loss when her middle child, Joseph Earl, died on March 12, 2006. She relied on her faith in God to get her through that struggle. Julia was preceded in death by her younger sister Mary, her older brother Willie and her niece Diane. Julia leaves to mourn her passing and to celebrate her life two sisters - Ruby White and Laura Wright, a son and daughter - Patrick Bundy and Theresa A. Bundy, a honorary daughter - Norma "Tootie" Williams-Woods, three honorary grandchildren - Monique, MarKeith and MarShay, three honorary great-granddaughters, Marley, MaKayla and NiKerria. She shared a special bond with her nephew, Donald Cotton, and dearly loved her other 17 nieces and nephews and a host of great-nieces and nephews. Her cousin, Lela Mae Love, was also a great friend and comfort. Julia's sweet spirit and tremendous heart allowed her to form a motherly bond with James "Jimmy" Butler, Rossari "Elaine" Matthews, Cheryl Coleman and Berna Griffin. She was lovingly cared for in her last year by Joyce Paxton and Renee Jones, both of whom she loved and were angels sent to her from up above. Special friends who also comforted her were Mrs. Velma Connerly, Mrs. Ruby Yarborough, Mrs. Sandra Wooten, all of Chicago, IL and Mrs. Carrie Sanders of Canton, OH. Special appreciation goes out to the Anderson family. Julia made her transition from temporal to eternal on August 27, 2016 at 1:47 am. Julia was well loved and also leaves behind many, many friends who will always remember the joy of her smile, her sweet face and the light she carried within that she willingly shared with anyone who crossed her path.
