K'Maia excepted Christ at an early age and was baptized as a member of Hermon Baptist Church in Chicago under the tutelage of Pastor Keith L. Edwards. She was an active participant in the youth ministry and kept a personal relationship with God.
K'Maia was creative in her own light. She was passionate about making & editing YouTube videos. She was quite the little tech wiz! She loved to dance, eat food (especially seafood), and traveling. Sugar, a.k.a K'Maia, was an old soul with intriguing taste in music from old to new school. Her favorite shows were Martin, Living Single, Friends, Family Matters, and Grownish. K'Maia was a family girl who enjoyed many events and all family gatherings. She and her mom had a special bond but she was definitely a Daddy's Girl, who spoiled her very much. She enjoyed being a big sister and loved her little brother, Kaleb - she was his protector. K’maia was labeled as an old soul who was wise and mature beyond her years. Being a self -starter and go getter, she never met a challenge she couldn't face and conquered anything she put her mind to.
K'Maia was a leader and made an indefinite profound impact during her "sweet 16 years" on this earth. She made her heavenly transition on August 12, 2020. She was proceeded in death by her Father, Jonathan Simon Smith, Grandfather "Baba" Earl Armand II, Grandmother Yvonne Smith and her Aunt Jazzi Femme Davis. K'Maia leaves us with her cherished memories.... her caring Mother, Koya Maia Armand, her loving Brother Kaleb Jonathan Smith, Grandmother Helen Armand, Great Grandmother Leslie Bibbs, Aunt Akilah Armand-Hazlip (Angelo), Three Uncles, Osei Armand, Jovon Smith (Jauna), Joshua Davis, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins Family, Friends, Teachers and Classmates.
