Lenette “Nette” Williams was born on October 24, 1964, to Walter Williams Sr. and Leerean Williams. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Mountain Top Missionary Baptist Church, where she enjoyed lifting her voice in song as a member of the choir.

Lenette graduated from George W. Collins High School in 1982 and later continued her education at Malcolm X College, where she earned her Associate’s Degree. Lenette had a true passion for education and a special love for children. For many years, she dedicated herself to teaching preschool at Marcy Center, Lawndale Community Day Care, and KinderCare, touching the lives of many children throughout her career.

On July 30, 2022, Lenette was joined in holy matrimony to her long-time love Byron Reeves.

Lenette enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during game nights and cookouts, where everyone looked forward to her infamous spaghetti. She also enjoyed shopping, watching movies and Lifetime Movie Network, and spending time with her beloved Katpac sisters. Family, friendship, laughter, and togetherness brought her great joy.

She departed this life on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Her sudden passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Lenette’s beautiful spirit, love, and presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Lenette was preceded in death by her grandmother, Bessie Mae McDonald; her father, Walter Williams Sr.; her brother, Walter Williams Jr.; her sisters, Mildred Williams and Lavette Williams; her son, Brandon Williams; and her uncle, Tommie McDonald.

Lenette leaves to cherish her loving memory: her devoted husband, Byron Reeves; her daughter, Jessica Reeves; her sons, Calvin and Melvin Williams; her loving mother, Leerean Williams; three sisters, Patricia (James) Taylor, Ronda Barfield, and Evette Williams; two brothers, Stanley (Dorothy) Williams and Tony (Terri) Williams; and her uncle, Robert Banks.

Fourteen nieces and nephews: Maurice (Sharonda) Barfield, Marcus Barfield, Evelyn Williams, Walter Williams IV, Terrel Williams, Brittany Ben, Courtney Williams, Lequitha Taylor, Marisa (Cameron) Blanchard, TaTyana Bonds, Simone Williams, Zina Williams, Laquwanda Williams, and Ethan Williams; her goddaughter, Ronesha Strong; and her great-niece, Marley Barfield, her ‘Tookama,’ who held an incredibly special place in her heart; a bond that was truly one of a kind.

She also leaves a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, cherished friends, and loved ones whose lives were forever touched by her love and presence.
