Lorri was born on October 22, 1980, in Chicago to LC and Dorothy Cook. As the youngest of five children, Lorri was spoiled, spoiled and spoiled but she was never selfish! Lorri went to Queen of Peace High School, graduating with her diploma in 1998. She then ventured to Champaign-Urbana to attend the University of Illinois, where she made a host of new friends and received her bachelor’s degree.
Lorri’s professional career consisted of supporting people in navigating their disability resources and benefits as a Family and Medical Leave Act Manager, most recently at ComPsych. A true professional, she led multiple teams and continued to progress in her career year after year.
Lorri was extremely devoted to her Christian faith. She was a member of the Lighthouse Church of All Nations in Alsip, IL. She often attended with her family and was always excited to invite friends to join her as well. Lorri loved to travel, attend concerts and Bears games. She also spent countless hours bowling in a local league. However, her most beloved activity was spending time with her family including celebrating birthdays, having holiday contests and attending coveted gatherings and trips with her cousins.
Lorri is preceded in death by her grandparents Harper and Willie Lee Cook and Willie and Lorene Murrell; her father, LC Cook; and her brother Cameron Cook. She will be forever missed by her mother, Dorothy Cook; siblings Kendall Cook of Champaign, IL, Laurence Johnson of South Holland, IL and Kimberly Johnson-Abogunrin of Chicago, IL; nieces and nephew, Ashley, Laurien, Amber, Milani and Jacobi; great-nieces and great-nephews Ashton, Parker, Peyton, Phoenix, Shontrell Jr. and Promise; as well as her sister/cousins Nannette and Crystal; sister-in-love JaPale Lucas; sister/aunt Gabrielle Dye; beloved partner Nathaniel Clay; special friends Azalea Hutchins, Jasmine Scott, J'Vohnne Rosario, and Peter Jackson; and a host of family and friends.
