Rosie’s Legacy
Mrs. Rosie Mae Anderson who was affectionally called Margaret, was born March 4, 1933, to the late Eddie and Fannie Ford in Huntsville, Alabama. She later moved to Chicago, Illinois, met and became the wife of the late Feltus Anderson, Jr. She transitioned from this life on June 2, 2025 at the age of 92.
Rosie accepted Christ at an early age. After marrying Feltus, the couple became members of the First Church of Holy Prophets. They later joined the Lutheran faith and became members of Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church followed by Augustana Lutheran Church and Salem Lutheran Church.
Rosie later became a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Though primarily a homemaker she also held various positions outside of the home with the Chicago Board of Education, Perrin Florist (a neighborhood establishment), the U.S. Postal Service, Sears, and Spiegel.
She was the beloved mother of Feltus Anderson, III; Brenda Ford; Phyllis Rae; Tuwania Anderson; Felicia Anderson and Sandra Middleton. She will be dearly missed by the grandchildren she loved: Quantez Cribbs; Trevor Wilson; Tanisha Wilson; Lisa Lee; Anthony Anderson (Allison); Sheree Anderson; Jeremy Middleton (Angela). She will also be cherished by her great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and family friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by all of her 10 siblings and has been a mother figure to each of her deceased sisters’ & brothers’ children and grandchildren, often giving support and words of encouragement. There are many family and friends who will cherish their memories of Mrs. Rosie M. Anderson.
