Vivian was born in Meridian, Mississippi, on February 28, 1945, to the union of Lucius and Bernice Burrage. Her father proceeded her in death. Vivian attended grammar school at Howland School, High School at Lucy Flowers and she also attended Marion Business School to establish her career in the Health field.
Vivian joined Douglas Park B.C. under the leadership of Rev. Thomas L. Lanier in 1980. She became an active member at Douglas Park utilizing her delicate, intricate, elaborate and adoring decorating skills. Vivian became involved in helping: Church Slates Supervisor, Homecoming Chairperson, preparing programs, food pantry, Women’s Day Chairperson and a faithful member of bible class.
Vivian worked as a Computer Analyst at St. Anne’s Hospital for twenty-seven years, Mt. Sinai Hospital as a Staffing Coordinator for eleven years and Walter Memorial Hospital in Staffing the Operating Room.
Vivian fought a long battle of sickness, she would fight for her health every day in ways people wouldn’t understand. Those who experience the most pain, are the ones who try to make others smile. And she did!
Vivian was especially devoted to her family, she was also preceded in death by her Daughter Blanche. She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories: her mother, Bernice, one daughter: Rhodesian, one sister: Thelma (Joe Sr.), one brother: Michael, four grandchildren: Vivianne (Cordale), Krystal (Leo), Kristina, and Maurice. Six great grandchildren: Rhosean, Kentrell, Asia, Corey, Karter, Camron. Two great-great grandchildren: Savannah and Amir. Five nephews: Joseph Jr., Ronald (Genelle), Bendale, Theron, and Michael, one great niece: Brielle, one God sister: Sharon, one God brother Anthony Special families: the Wofford’s, Bond’s, Jackson’s and Peterson’s and a host of friends and families.
