Barbara Stewart Hamilton Obituary

                                                                                      Sweet Angel

                                                                           Barbara Jean Stewart Hamilton

Barbara Jean Stewart Hamilton, affectionately known as “Bobbie”, was born on April 1, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Barbara was the second child of six born to John and Odessa Hamilton, who preceded her in death.

Since a young age, Barbara lived a life non-verbal and hearing impaired. However, she didn’t let that stop her from living a full life. She was smart, loving, caring, affectionate, and very observant. She always had a beautiful smile that would brighten up any room.

For 29 years Barbara faithfully attended Aztlan Community Industries also known as Ada S. McKinley located on the southside of Chicago. Every week, Barbara looked forward to going to her workshop where she would learn various tasks and work on special projects. Barbara was a member of the travel club where she went on cruises and traveled across the country for vacation. Barbara loved to participate in all the holiday parties and activities the workshop held. At the time of her passing, Barbara was the senior client at Ada S. McKinley.

When Barbara wasn’t at her workshop she loved spending time with family, cooking cornbread to go along with a pot of collard greens, cleaning, shopping, planting flowers, and watching her favorite television shows on ABC.

On January 31, 2022, while Barbara was going through her morning routine and preparing to go to her workshop, the Lord saw fit to call our beautiful Angel home.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory daughters Latisa Stewart-Lott (Aaron) and Candace Nichols (who preceded her in death); Grandchildren, Dorian, and Devin; one brother Alphonso Hamilton; Barbara’s three sisters Ethel Jacobs, Gloria J. Hamilton, Odessa Hamilton, and brother John T. Hamilton Jr. also preceded her in death; niece Kim Moon; nephews John, Justin, and Lamar; her Aztlan/Ada S. McKinley family; and a host of relatives and friends.
