Dexter Allison Obituary

Dexter Allison was born (in Chicago, Illinois) to (Melvin Elvin Allison and Lula Mae Allison) on (January 15, 1966). Before taking his rest, He fought with faith to live with a spinal cord injury and stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma for 4 years. He went to grammar school at Medgar Ever and attended High School at John Marshall Harlan - Class of 1984. Graduated from Coyne Electrical Institute. He completed a four-year apprenticeship program with IBEW local 134 May 1990.

He married Myown M. Allison on (December 1, 1990) in (Chicago, Illinois). We were both baptized and gave our lives to Christ on December 25th 1988 at Apostolic Church of God. Dexter recommitted his life to Christ and was baptized with his sons Dexter D. Allison II and Damier J. Allison in 2015. He worked as a cook in 1982 at McDonald’s for 3 years, Construction Laborer for Fred Berglund Construction company for 2years and a (Journeyman(May/1990 ) Master Electrician) for (Local 134 and Local 9 for 30 years. A Master electrician has worked in residential construction, commercial construction, communications, and utilities.

He truly enjoyed working the last 5 years within utilities under Intern. He was involved in civic positions and leadership rolls as a precinct captain for 21st ward, President of the 97th Wentworth Avenue Block club, Jackie Robinson little league Coach, Union steward, and Foreman. I2R member. He was able to retire as an electrician in 2020. He received several honors over the years. His best achievements are being a great father, caring neighbor, fantastic son, giving brother and uncle, a wonderful friend, a delightful husband and a blessed and highly favored man of God.

(Dexter Allison) is preceded in death by brother Otis Bays (Ludwetta (Renay) {Lavada} (04/28/1961 to 07/27/2019, Aunt Ellen H. Reed (04/30/1947 to 09/13/2004), Aunt Laura E. Holloway (01/24/1951 to 03/27/2018) Uncle Nathan Bob Allison Sr. (12/21/1939 to 01/29/1998),Uncle Russell P. Jenkins (03/02/1948 to 09/29/2017) Uncle Clifford Holloway (02/25/1951 to 09/12/2016.

(Dexter Allison) is survived by Wife Myown M. Allison of 38 years, Son, Dexter D. Allison II, and son Damier J. Allison. Sister-in-law Burgundy (Mike) Friscia, Brothers: Simuel(Debra) Jones, ex-wife Paula, Melvin E. Allison Jr., Martell Lajuan Allison (Sadia), Step brother Jermaine Sister Denise (Belt )Long {John},Stepsisters Shon and, Nika, Nieces: Ameryst, Sonya, Katinka, Jhaton, Lavada, Lucretia, Shanice, Jessica T. Allison. Great Nieces: Lavada (Joy), Kristina, Gabrielle, Ari’elle, Gizelle ,Brielle, Janelle, Morgan, Ny ‘Lise Nephews: Jadyn, Dion, Moses, Shawn (Jhaton’s brother) Great Nephew: Jayden Collins, Justine ,Jason, Dion Jr., Jalen, Christopher D.J. And host of other great nieces , great nephews and cousins. Aunts: Deborah Negash, and Shelby Allison Uncles: Douglas Jenkins and Burley Jones Mother: Lula Mae Allison; Mother-in-law Toya Boyd, Stepmother Earlean G. Allison Father: Melvin E. Allison: Father-in-Law William Jordan: and Stepfather Eric Boyd.
