Ervin Smith Sr. was born June 5th 1958 to John Curtis and Elma Smith of Money Mississippi. He was preceded in death by Curtis Smith (father), Elma Smith (mother), Alvin Smith (twin brother), John Curtis Smith jr. (brother), Elaine Smith (sister), Josephine Leach (sister), Ervin Smith jr. (son), Egypt Randolph (grandson).
Ervin graduated from John Marshall High School where he starred in football and baseball. He also attended Illinois State University where he played baseball. He accepted Christ early in his life and rededicated his life to the lord late in his life (Unity MB Church).
Ervin worked many years for UPS (loader), Franklin Weber / Larry Faul Pontiac as a porter and Meineke. He also worked at the Maxwell Street Flee market for most of his life working for his father (Curtis Smith). Ervin was an outgoing person. He loved his music and storytelling.
Ervin leaves to cherish his memories: Jonathan Kennedy (son), Elaina Smith and Mekela Kennedy (daughters), Ervin Vilella (grandson), James (Carolyn) Leach and Eddie (Nicole) Smith (brothers) and Mattie (Henry) Dunbar (sister), Elma Denise (Jesse) Rankin-Moore and Ashley Leach (Niece), Jason and Eric Smith, Aaron and Henry Dunbar jr. (nephews). Ervin leaves a host of cousins and other family and friends.
