John’s Story
John Anthony Gray JR. affectionately called Baby T was born on March 25, 1982, to Kimberly McGee and John Anthony Gray, Sr.
Baby T received his formal education and graduated from Delano Elementary School and George Westinghouse High School. He also attended Elgin Community College. Baby T accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by his grandfather, The Late Pastor Felix Martin, at the Mountaintop Missionary Baptist Church.
Baby T was a member of the Junior choir. Baby T (Chi-Money) was a go getter, he excelled everywhere he worked.
Baby T was employed by Footlocker as a manager for 4 years. At the same time, he worked at the Finish Line and Target.
Baby T was always looking to upgrade to a better job; he was employed by My Pactive, Midcare, Wisconsin Union and Pacific Railroad. In 2019 Baby T found his passion job with John Deere Corporation. At John Deere Baby T was able to travel the country, New York, Missouri, Wisconsin and Minnesota to name a few.
Baby T was the First Grandson and Nephew. He loved to play Spades. Baby T knew he was the coldest with the playing cards; he was the first child allowed to sit at the table to play with the adults.
BabyT was a basketball fanatic, he thought he was better than Michael Jordan. Baby T was affectionately called by many different names and he answered everyone with a smile. (It was the dimple for me) Baby T was a family man, he loved to be around his kids, family and friends.
Baby T was one of a kind, he was very spoiled. It was his way or no way. He had an attitude out of this world, but you couldn’t help but love Him. Baby T was the life of the party, he came with all the jokes, it did not matter who you were; you were getting roasted. Baby T loved to hang out with his bros, his favorite hangout spot was on Gladys and Pulaski streets.
On February 22, 2023, at 10:15pm, John was received by his Great-Grandparents Lanzy Sr. and Vadie McGee; his grandparents Emanuel and Lela Montique; Johnnie Powell; Pastor Felix and Katherine Martin, and Alma McGee; Great Aunts Hattie, Bertha, Karen McGee, Edie Henderson, Great Uncles Lanzy Jr. and Dwayne McGee; Aunts Alexis and Michelle McGee and Uncle Kenneth Martin, Sr. Baby T leaves to cherish his fond memories four children: Jatoya, Jaiana, John III, and Jamiyah; his loving Mother Kimberly (Christopher) Martin, his Father John Sr. (Trina) five sisters Kimesha, Angie, Ervina, Victoria (Xavier) and Tonimesha; three brothers Robertshawn, Christopher Jr. and Jeremy. A host of Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends. Auntie Anita Gray who played an important part in his life.
