Morris Ellis Obituary

Obituary

Do you know Mo?

I’ve never had a bad day in my life, and today was beautiful. It’s all about love. – Morris Ellis

Born Morris Earl Ellis on the good day of June 29, 1966 to Pearlie Mae and Robert Earl Ellis his loving nurturing parents, whom are now deceased.  Morris Earl came home as the latest edition to the Ellis Family.  Joining his 14 siblings: Minnie Pearl, Cheryl, Alinda(deceased), Brenda(deceased), Patricia, Denise, Renita, Robert Earl, Darcel(deceased), Stanley, Elliot, Michael, Anthony, and Darryl.

We all enjoyed with Morris a great and tremendous upbringing filled with the love of God and family in our family home on Fillmore Street, Chicago, Illinois, “West-siiide”.  Morris was the father of Ebony, Angela Renae and Malcolm Xavier and the grandfather to Brennan, Morgan, Ava, and Danny Jr. He was Uncle-Daddy to Renitas’ children Marjani and Mikhail. There are a vast number of aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews that Morris respected and loved in his life and that are also recognized by our family and dearly loved. Morris attended St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Elementary School and Hales Franciscan High School in Chicago Il. At 14 Morris moved to Yazoo City Mississippi with his father and attended Yazoo City High School. Morris Later received his degree in Business Administration at Lake Land College in Southern Illinois. If you know Mo, you know that he spent a great portion of his life in enjoyment with others ensuring laughter, dancing, and singing through the day. A jack of all trades, Morris served his North Lawndale Community through construction, electrician, mechanic, chef, and even babysitting! As much family as Morris had, he had an equivalent number of friends whom also knew and loved him as a brother.  Morris is honored today in his homecoming as our baby brother, a faithful loving father and grandfather, uncle and friend. A good community member whom we already miss and will keep in our hearts and minds respecting a joyful memory of love and kindness. (a little pop-locking and twerking) You know Mo!
