Shekinah Tiara Steen

Shekinah Tiara Steen (also know as Kinah) was born to the proud parents Fatima Cosey and Thomas Steen, on March 4,1999. She is processed in death by both her grandmother’s Wanda Cosey and Dorothy Steen. And also her grandfather Thomas Ingram. Shekinah graduated from Perspective Leadership Academy in 2017. And just graduated on May 14, 2021 from University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign. She received her Bachelor of Science in Media and Cinema Studies

. In fall of 2022, she had plans to go to DePaul University to get her masters. One thing I can say about my baby once she puts her mind to something she goes and get it. She was a go getter like her mama. Kinah accepted Christ at a early age. Nine years ago, she joined Starlight Saint James under Pastor C.B. Bradford, where she became a member of the praise dance team. Kinah was a very outgoing person, and a book worm. She loved hanging out with her family and friends.

She was extra crazy about her dog Shaggy. Kinah had many talents. One was in writing. In high school she wrote a play. And just the other day, she brought a guitar. She had been wanting that guitar for years. Shekinah departed her life on July 31, 2021 at 5:36 pm. She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her mother Fatima and daddy Thomas (Sharlene). Her Godson De’Kye. Her dog Shaggy.Four brothers: Jeremiah, Jamel, Anthony and William. One sister Tommaya. Godparents Clinton and Deborah Phillips. Two grandfathers Roddrick Verner Sr. and Herbert McCall. Two great-grandmother’s Shirley Cosey and Janice Harris. Also two great- Auntie’s Geri Jones and Rose Powell. Shekinah leaves a host of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Also Three longtime friends: April, Aisat and Quiana.
